Dr. Lin is a first-generation Taiwanese American who was raised and educated in California, USA, starting his journey in the United States at the young age of two. He successfully completed his undergraduate education at the esteemed University of California, Berkeley, where he specialized in neurobiology. Notably, he was recruited by Taipei Medical University in Taiwan to become the first foreign medical student to study at their medical school, marking a significant milestone in his career.

After graduating from medical school, Dr. Lin pursued rigorous surgical residencies and fellowships at Tufts Medical University in the USA, gaining invaluable experience in his field. His commitment to furthering his education took him to prestigious institutions abroad, completing fellowships at the Berlin-Charité Medical Center in Germany and the University of Florence Medical Hospital in Italy. In addition to his formal training, he has been an active member of Doctors Without Borders, where he worked in Chennai, India, performing vital cataract surgeries to restore sight. Furthermore, he is also an integral part of a dedicated team of doctors volunteering in Vietnam, where they perform critical retinal and cataract surgeries for those in need. Currently, Dr. Lin serves as the Chief of Retinal Surgery at Yee Zen General Hospital in Taiwan and is the director and owner of the Berkeley Ophthalmology, also located in Taiwan.
